Trying without success to paste a CueTable diagram into my WordPress Blog

and can't get it to stick.

First I tried the copy HTML button, pasted it into the HTML block of a new post. saved it. at first glance, it sticks, but when I went back to edit it, the HTML code and the image disappeared from my editor.

tried c/p the URL, and could only see the URL string, no table image.

tried to bracket with per the instructions, and that didn't work. tried it with , and that didn't work either.

is there something special I need to do with the HTML to make it stick around in my WP post editor, or with the URL code to bring forth an image?

    please help.

    Hi Joe,

You will want add the html code in "html mode". It looks something like this:

    HTML Code:
    <iframe src="http://CueTable.com/P/Player/?@4IATW1PNyT@" noresize="noresize" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" frameborder="no" width="600" height="400" ></iframe>
Here is a way to make it work. Write your post in "visual mode" first. When you are done, switch to "html mode" and add the code either at the beginning or the end. Then publish or update.

Wordpress is a great blog publisher for non-techies. It's visual editor will automatically ignore some html tags (object, iframe, style, etc) . There are plugins to overwrite this. However, the method above would work just fine if you don't want to go through the troubles.

Also, I'd suggest you to always save a copy of the layout html on your computer just in case.

RIght, that's pretty much how I've done it. If I leave the editor alone after publishing, the image will remain, but if I return to edit a post with the HTML in it, I need to repaste the code because it gets wiped out by something.

if this is done because of WordPress, then I would like to figure out how to turn off that 'feature', because it gets very messy if not handled properly.

I see that the image will stick around as long as I don't go back to do any editing, so for now I will definitely make sure to save the HTML code for each image I want, for safety's sake.

Is there no other way to fix the issue?

Thank you for the quick answer. I'll try to muddle through

oh, P.S.: I'm very curious about the "marketing partnership" offer, for adding an advertisement of my own into the CueTable ad banner. I sent a request for information through the 'contact us' email page, but I have gotten no response at all. Where can I get addition info about this?

Hello... I'm getting a different error with WordPress.

When the page is loading, shockwave banner appears and the second after I got a message that reads:
"This application requires an Xtra (Animated GIF...) that either does not exists or failed to initialize properly. Please make sure the appropriate Xtras are in the Xtras folder(s)."

Any idea why this happen? And more importantly, how to fix it?

FTR: I Can access and use the CueTable software from this site. It works perfectly. However, when I copy and paste the HTML into my WP installation, I got the result mentioned above. So, yes, I have the full version installed in my local computer.

    Hello Will,

You can tried to install the latest version of Adobe Shockwave Player from Adobe website:
    Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player

If problems still occur after the install, please come back and let us know about your platform, system version, browser. We will help you from there on.

    Thanks,

Ok, I reinstalled the full version of the SW player. I'm still getting the same error.

Problem is, I can see and use the diagrams here, they worked like a charm. Then I try to use it on my testing website and I can't so it seems a problem related to my hosting (it's on ubuntu). Uhmm.... now that I mention it.. it could be a problem with my mod_security settings. Lemme try.

    Update: Nope... it is not.

Edit 2: Sorry, I didn't answer your question:

    Windows 7, Pro Ed.
    Browsers: I've tried using FF 15, GC 21 & Opera 12

My website is hosted at Hostgator.
