  1. Hi Scott.. I think this is how I respond, I'm not too familar with this site yet... lol... I'm so sorry.. I didn't see the msg earlier!!

Ok... so.. masse cues.. a typical masse cue is much shorter than a reg cue, heavier and tip size is normally 14mm. Some makers even make them with brass ferrules!! When I say heavier.. I mean they can be as heavy as 28 oz. Mine is only 21.. but that's because I prefer the 'overhand' grip.. not dart. (So my stroke comes from my whole forearm .. elbow down.. not just my wrist.. generating more power.) The weight of the cue and shortness is what makes them slightly more difficult to make. The weight really has to be at the grip.

I know guys that bring about 20 cues with them to tournaments... lol... way different than a reg. pool player! So it isn't limited to the number of cues you can use. I bring 4. My shooting cue, my Mandigo jump, my Lucasi jump (for those one handed jumps..) and my masse cue.

    Hope that helps!

About Me
I'm an avid player and play about 25 hours a week. I also enjoy watching people play and do so for a few hours a week as well. I'm a student of the game and am always trying to learn something. I've been playing since I was a kid and I developed a new passion for the game about 5 years ago when a friend asked if I could take his spot on a league team. I'm not an instructor, but I do enjoy writing and I blog about my journey of learning the game. Feedback is always welcome-good or bad.
My other main passion is fly fishing and stream fishing in general. I make my own poles, flies and lures. I also like cycling, motorcycling, golf, raquetball, swimming, photography.

I'm someone who has to dissect everything I love that I want to get better at. I love playing pool and it is not impervious to my need to dissect. For me to get better at something, I break it all down and look at each aspect of what I'm doing. When I was recently watching "Top Shot" on History

It's not contagious, but I bet you've had it-IV

Ok, so I think I now have a better understanding of the problem. Understanding the problem and admitting it, just like an alcoholic, is probably more than half the battle. Knowing the solution comes easier-'don't do that!' Ok, maybe it's not that easy. I now realize that choking and stressing out are

It's not contagious, but I bet you've had it-III

Many people will say stress and what happens next is a result of the interior "flight or fight" mechanism. Some may even say someone who chokes has simply taken flight. Well according to Vijay P. Sharma Phd. that's not entirely the case. This is from Mind Publications-How Stress Affects the Body.
