I have several of the monks books, i am currently half way threw "i came to win"

Anyone have any opinions on the collection or certain books?

Low deflection shafts........Meucci black dot shaft, predetor, OB1 etc.

I'm in the market for a "low deflection" shaft. I recently viewed several videos where meucci demonstraded how effective their black dot shaft was, relative to traditional cut shafts, but conveniently neglected to compare the results to other low deflection shafts.

I can only assume they did so because there are better shafts on the market or the difference between them and the competition is insignificant.

Does anyone know if there are coparable results on the low deflection shafts or are we left to figure it out on our own?

Are there any "A" players or pros out there, not endorsing a product line, who can tell me what they use and why?

I was fooling around on table 11 at Amsterdam Billiard yesterday and found a shot by accident. I ended up practicing it. Will I play it in a real game situation? Does it happen on every table? Not sure. However, I think the shot is very fun to try.

Shoot the ball at high speed, the object ball will hit the rail and jump over the cue ball towards the corner pocket at the other end. Later I tried to do it on the short cushion (see page 2 of the diagram). I can also get the object ball to jump. However, for some reasons unknown the ball kept going the other way no matter how many times I have tried.

Safety on the 8 Ball?

In BCA.. Could you call a safety on the 8 ball.. when there is no other balls left on the table.

i have a specific place i like to break from every time. i thought it would be interesting to hear other points of view on this. so this is mine. . .

i hit with about a 90% hit, 1 cue tip below center roughly and left to try to get this position each time. works pretty well, i can usually get a good spread and pocket at least one ball. i lay my stick on the rail when i hit for consistency.

Table that distract you..

what color of cloth distract you the most?? light green or maybe dark green is the original color of cloth but there is other colors. I say red cloth distract my game the most because the light reflects so much that I almost cannot see the 3 ball or even the 5 and 7... red cloth also feels so bright to me.

I had a chance to play with old friends on Table 12 at Amsterdam Billiards first time in a few weeks. To my surprise, they just changed the cloth few hours ago. The balls were running and gliding very nicely, except I had a tough time trying to adjust to it. There were a few times I had to settle for less than perfect position on shots. The table made me look like a guy with super stroke. It's fun to drive the ball around, but difficult to get it to stop even when I am already hitting "soft" :o

Just want to throw this out and see maybe anyone here have good suggestions on this... :)

this the full rack of 9 ball game Alcano's break, he made the six and miss the 1 on the side which put the ball in current position. Efren is suppose to runout the entire rack when he lost postion and made his 6th unforced error after he miss the 7 on the side. what will you if you are the shooter in that situation.

I was watching Tony and Gail practicing this evening. A layout like this came up for Gail. She got out with zero difficulty. Then we started a discussion where Tony had some interesting things to say.
