Congratulations on your soon to be acquired pool table. When deciding the color of cloth for your home table, there are a few elements to consider: How it will look in your house, what color cloth are you used to, what color will you most often play on (tourneys, money games etc.). Any of these and more can have a play at helping make your decision, but all in all it's a matter of preference. Most players and teachers agree though, that extreme colors should be avoided: red, black, dark green, dark grey, zebra stripe etc. The two most popular are green and "tournament blue" by Simonis. Supposedly the tourney blue offers the best contrast against the pool balls, but many traditionalists argue that green is simply the way to go. Here's a good article about different colors:
As for daily practice routines, an instructor can help you come up with one if you could provide a little info about your game, or for more serious training regimens, there are many: Joe Tucker has some good drills and work out regimens, Phil Capelle has some good books than can help you create a regimen as well, Practicing Pool being the most useful for this capacity. YOU can also find many drills and exercises on google search, and tailor fit a workout program to fit your speed and style. Let us know if this helpful or if we can help you further, thanks for posting.
